As a generalist centre, BGCLS sees clients about a variety of matters from fines to neighbourhood disputes to family law. Clients come from a variety of backgrounds and are often disadvantaged or vulnerable. The following information provides a breakdown of our clients and the needs we have addressed
While the 2019/2020 FY ended with the world in a position that no one could have imagined, BGCLS managed to achieve great outcomes for our clients both before and during the pandemic.
We saw the opening of the Specialist Family Violence Court in Ballarat and welcomed the additional funding that allowed us to expand our team. BGCLS hosted several students this year, ranging from early years university students, to those soon to be admitted to practice and fostered relationships with local practitioners to continue our volunteer solicitor program. Despite the many challenges that presented during the year, we were able to maintain vital assistance to those in need in our community. I look forward to another positive year for BGCLS and continuing to provide quality services to our clients. |
