In last year’s Annual Report Ballarat & Grampians Community Legal Service expressly looked forward to 2019-2020 as a year of growth and sustainability. Both objectives were achieved, a credit to all staff and volunteers of the Service, in light of the disruption caused by COVID-19 to the world, and more specifically, the people of Victoria. From March this has meant a rapid process of adaption to remote working and delivering legal services primarily via phone. All the staff have risen to the challenges well and provided effective services in a safe manner.

At this time of year, we look back over the last financial year, reflect on our people, our work and the impact our organisation has made to the clients that need us the most.
This year has been like no other. When thinking about our people I see a team of resilient and committed individuals.I see a team who embraced new technology to ensure the impact on clients was minimal. With all the uncertainty and change I am proud to share that we assisted 1421 clients. |
Treasurers ReportThe 2019/2020 financial year saw BGCLS continue the sustainability of its operations, with positive financial management ensuring continuing provision of legal services to those who needed them. The Service was fortunate to secure additional funding during the year to expand its operations and it now meets the financial requirements for a Large Charity under the ACNC requirements.
